Boys Select Tryouts
***Please read all information carefully**
This year, instead of separate tryouts for Junior and Senior teams, we will evaluate all the players at each session.
We encourage all players to attend as many of the sessions as possible and have added another date on October 31st to accommodate players who have tournaments or other sports starting. If none of the dates work for your schedule, please contact Greg Gilbert ([email protected]) so I can make other arrangements.
Please read the Select details carefully:
When: Tryouts are on the following three days:
- Saturday, 10/31, 2-4PM (new session);
- Saturday, 11/7, 2-4PM; and
- Sunday, 11/8, 2-4PM
Where: Hightower Trail Middle School
Who: 6th, 7th, and 8th graders
7th graders (2026) will be evaluated as candidates for both the Junior and Senior Select teams.
Boys who are currently playing with us this fall will need to wear their assigned practice pinnie to the tryouts. New pinnies will be assigned for boys not playing fall lacrosse
Tryout Registration: Please follow the steps below to register for Tryouts.
Tryout Results: After tryouts, you will be notified if your player has made a Select team and you will be sent an invitation to register for the team. Select teams are highly competitive. Unfortunately, not all players that tryout will make the team. We encourage players that do not receive a Select team invitation to register for our Rec program in January.

- Click either the "Register Now" button at the top of the site or the "Programs Available" button that appears next to your player's name
- Click the "Select" button for the program named “2021 Spring Boys Select”
- Click "Continue" and complete the registration form. NOTE: You will be required to enter a valid US Lacrosse #
Uniform Sizing: We will be using Under Armour for our uniforms again this year. The sizing for their custom uniform line is slightly different (smaller) than the shorts and shirts we have for the rec player packs in the fall. Fit Kits will be available at each tryout for parents to determine appropriate sizing. If your player were to get the wrong size, we cannot swap because these are custom items. To avoid players having to try on items, please bring shorts/shirts that best fit your son to compare to the items we will have at the tryouts.
Cost: Select team cost will be $525-$550 depending on the number of players selected. Players that make the team will be required to purchase a navy-blue Cascade S helmet if the player does not already have one. We have secured a great discount for our program and the helmet cost will be approximately $175 - $200 depending on the number of helmets ordered. The helmet cost is in addition to the team cost. We usually get the helmets in time to be a holiday gift.
Refunds: There will be no refunds after uniforms and gear have been ordered unless unfortunately, the season is cut short due to COVID-19. In the event that the season is cut short due to COVID-19, at a minimum, cost of gear ordered will not be refunded and any refund considered will be based on other costs incurred by the program. Refunds to a credit card will be charged a 3% processing fee.
Season Details: Conditioning begins in December with full practices starting in January. Games typically start the first week of February (with multiple sports seasons starting late this year, the season start may change). Please Note: The league will schedule games for the second weekend of the February break so please plan accordingly.
Coaches: Josh Wells is returning as our Senior Select coach and John Caliri is returning as our Junior Select coach.
